Looking to Reconnect with Your Body After Having a Baby?

VillageFit Offers the Perfect Opportunities

By Jessica Kline, Publisher + Editor Macaroni Kid Clifton-Montclair April 14, 2022

Our bodies are always changing, but no one knows change quite like a mother's body postpartum. Giving birth and then taking on all of the responsibilities it comes with, can be a lot for anyone to handle. And it becomes even more difficult when a mother is still in the process of reconnecting with herself, her body, and the world around her.

Exercise can be a great way to improve physical and mental well-being after having a baby. Postpartum exercise offers a wide range of opportunities that will not only help you feel better but help you get back to feeling in tune with your body. Postpartum exercise can help to:

  • Restore muscle strength
  • Boost your energy
  • Improve your sense of wellbeing
  • Promote weight loss
  • Improve your cardiovascular fitness
  • Restrengthen your abdominal muscles
  • Decrease stress and improve mood
  • Curve postpartum depression

Exercise can feel very overwhelming with everything else moms have on their plates. That’s why VillageFit was created.

VillageFit offers exercise classes strategically designed to allow moms to work out with their kids so you never have to miss out on precious family time. VillageFit classes are a great opportunity to show yourself and your baby a little love.

VillageFit’s Mindful Yogatation

Combining meditation and yoga, this class is a great way to get grounded and ready for the day. Starting at 8:45 a.m. on Mondays at Brookdale Park, this 30-minute class is perfect for non-mobile babies and for moms who want to clear their minds with gentle movement and positive affirmations. So come to a Mindful Yogatation class where you can stretch, do some yoga, practice breathwork, meditate and spend some much-needed time with yourself and your newborn.

VillageFit’s Outdoor Stroller HIIT

This class was strategically designed to allow mothers with stroller-aged children an opportunity to get active without having to leave their kids behind. Combining strength training and cardio, this thirty-minute HIIT workout will provide maximum results with little commitment. Using resistance bands and the stroller, you can get in a quick workout, connect with other mothers just like you and get back to feeling like yourself again. Come join them on Monday and Saturday mornings at Brookdale Park!

VillageFit’s Indoor HIIT for Non-Mobile Babies

Similar to stroller HIIT, this class combines cardio and strength training, providing a perfect workout in a short amount of time. Using resistance bands, you’re guaranteed to get in a good workout and spend some quality time with your baby. Join them Thursday mornings!

For more information on class times and weather updates, check out their website. If the weather isn’t looking good and a class you signed up for gets canceled, you’re able to use that pass for another day so don’t hesitate to sign up. We also understand that a mother’s schedule tends to be pretty unpredictable, so we don’t charge last-minute cancellation fees and you can use your unused pass to another class. Come on Mom, it’s time to get moving – risk-free!

Can’t wait to see you there!
