Has your child been diagnosed with food allergies?

Presenting a Virtual Support Group for Moms

By Stacey Pinilis, LCSW March 9, 2023

You and your spouse are enjoying being newly married. You travel, socialize and love to cook. Life is good. You are excited to build your family and you imagine how life will be with your little one. Thoughts of fun family vacations, birthday parties, and adventure fill your mind.

Fast forward to your child’s food allergy diagnosis.

This wasn’t part of the plan. How will you travel? Socialize? Cook and eat all the delicious food you enjoy. How will you keep your child safe and remain sane? How will you stay married when you have different ideas about what’s next?

The very first thing to do is to pause. Take a deep breath and give yourself a minute. The news may feel hard but the rest doesn’t have to.

You can get support and learn tools alongside other parents navigating similar things in a workshop led by Stacey Pinilis, LCSW, psychotherapist.

Join in on the four-part workshop with the option to continue on Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30 am. New groups and times are forming now. During sessions parents will discuss a strategic course of action to gain control over a time when things feel out of control, discuss ways to show up confidently, connect with others, and make sure to enjoy life.
