Supper is Saved!

Tasty Home Cooked Meals in Bloomfield Ready for the Table in Minutes!

By Jessica Kline, Publisher + Editor Macaroni Kid Clifton-Montclair January 13, 2025

One of the things I hate most is figuring out what's for dinner. If everyone in my family would eat what was given to them without a complaint, I think I'd cook more. When I recently heard about Family Supper in Bloomfield (which opened in the old location of Apem Creamery), I admit I was curious. What made it different from ordering takeout? How convenient is it? As you can see, I'm a bit of a skeptic and must try things myself (along with my family) before making a recommendation to all of you. Before my review, we all give it a 10 out of 10 and will be ordering again and again!

Note: A meal was gifted to my family, but my opinions are my own and those of my picky-eating family.

SUPPER IS SAVED!

Family-style and individual meals. Delivery, pickup, and grab n’ go are available in the Essex County, NJ, area.

Pick-up

  • Open Monday-Thursday 12-8 pm

Options for delivery

  • Delivery: DoorDash and UberEats deliveries 12-8 pm
  • Doorstep Delivery via their website from 4-6 pm across Essex County

Step 1 Place Order

Easy peasy, place your order of items and number of people you'll be serving. As a family with food allergies, we love that Family Supper offers an entire easy-to-follow guide for allergens, and lucky for us, we could eat almost everything on the entire menu. They also have vegetarian options, we have one of those in our home too.

We like that you have the option for hearty meals that taste like home cooking, options to keep in the freezer for another day (lasagna), and a ton of sides, both healthy and hearty.

Step 2

We opted for pick-up, and the location is very convenient: 870 Broad Street, Bloomfield (near Glen Ridge). Our food was given to us hot, and we asked for a few things ready for the freezer for a snowy day (you can never be too prepared).

Step 3

Keep warm in the oven and serve! My kids were huge fans of the chicken and for anyone who knows my kids, that's a big compliment!

Step 4

The world's easiest clean-up! Place a reorder for the next meal at Family Supper.

Meet the Co-Founders

Andrew Jacobson is the Co-Founder of Family Supper

Before launching Family Supper in 2024, Jacobson held various positions within DIG, the vegetable-centric, fast-casual restaurant group that he co-founded in 2011. Bringing 20 years of food service industry experience to Family Supper, Jacobson is now on a mission to revive family dinners and help bring delicious wholesome food to busy households across New Jersey.

Jacobson lives in Northern New Jersey with his family. When he’s not busy working on ways to rebuild our food system, Jacobson can be found playing tennis, searching for gluten-free sweet treats, and of course, connecting with family over a shared meal.

Tiana Thomas is the Co-Founder of Family Supper

A 3rd-generation food entrepreneur, Thomas grew up around her parents’ Jamaican restaurant and B&B in Guyana hearing stories of her grandparents’ chicken shop, bakery, and general store in Jamaica (Thomas’ birthplace).

Before launching Family Supper in 2024, Thomas spent a decade working in NYC law and affordable housing where she wore many hats, including tech and operations roles. Motivated by her passion for connecting with people and serving the greater good, Thomas has shifted away from NYC public service to focus on bringing fresh high-quality food to her local community in Northern New Jersey.

When not busy running Family Supper, Thomas can be found working towards completing her acupuncture training, activating community, and sitting down to a dinner with her family.
