The Montclair branch of the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) offers French classes and summer programs for toddlers, kids and teens (ages 2-18) of every levels from complete beginners to native French speaking children. All our classes and camps are taught by experienced native speakers of French who come from all over the francophone world and are fully certified to teach French as a foreign language. Classes Toddlers (ages 2 to 5 years old) learn, laugh, and play en français in FIAF’s à petits pas program! They discover the language through a structured curriculum based on a child’s daily life, enriched with games, songs, dance, and arts-and-crafts. In a FIAF Benjamins class (grades K-1), your child learns French through stories and other fun activities including art-and-craft, songs, games and movement. FIAF’s Minimes program (grades 2 to 5) sends your child on a journey in French with Felix, Lila and their friends from Zig Zag, méthode de français. Start your child in a new language or boost their scholastic performance in French with FIAF’s Cadets! FIAF’s Cadets (grades 6 to 8) and Junior classes (grades 9 to 12) focus on developing oral communication, including both listening comprehension and speaking skills. Our multidisciplinary approach promotes interactions in French through role playing everyday tasks to awaken teens’ interest and imaginations. Summer Camps (ages 3 to 11) & Teens Immersion Classes (ages 11 to 18) Toddlers and kids will laugh, play, explore, and stay active all summer long as they learn French. Each week’s camp focuses on a different theme and children are taught about a vast range of French vocabulary while cultivating their curiosity and boosting their creativity. Teens dive into French in our week-long immersion classes.
