The OVAL, a vibrant day camp nestled in the picturesque South Mountain Reservation in Maplewood, offers a touch of wilderness in the heart of Essex County. Surrounded by lush forests, rustic cabins, and an expansive field, The OVAL is a retreat where Girl Scouts can connect with nature, build friendships, and embrace outdoor adventure. Removed from the hustle of metro New Jersey, it provides the perfect setting to unplug and experience the great outdoors.
Serving campers from kindergarten through 10th grade, The OVAL combines fun, learning, and growth through a variety of engaging activities. Campers can hike scenic trails, perfect their aim at the archery range, or express creativity with arts and crafts. Progressive programming ensures that each camper develops skills at their own pace, fostering confidence, leadership, and resilience.
Day camp runs from July 7 through August 15, Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Open to campers entering kindergarten through 10th grade.
Whether exploring the woods, participating in classic camp activities, or earning badges, campers are encouraged to embrace challenges and strengthen their independence.
